about us

What Makes Us Different?

Our passion is to ensure each pet receives the best possible veterinary care. During our daily work we have witnessed how powerful the human – animal bond is, and our service to your pets includes a service to you. Each pet and their family are unique, our promise to you is that we will always respect your relationship and choices. Pets positively impact your health and life, as pet owners and vets we can feel this, but science proves that this is not just a feeling, but a fact.  We want to help you look after your animal family because we think they deserve the best care.

We are proud of our expertise as GP vets. Having spent a combined 15 years working in Mackay helping dogs, cats and their owners, there is no disease we have not seen! We identified a need for a mobile service for busy families with young children, pets who don’t enjoy the traditional vet clinic experience, and people without transportation. The idea behind Mackay Mobile Vets was created. Being a small, family run business, we are not here to compete on pricing. We are here to provide a service to the community of pet owners that need our convenient, compassionate and knowledgable care. We want to be your pets favourite vet! We are looking forward to meeting you and your animal family.

Our Vets

Hello, I am Dr Lucinda
Small animal vet

I am the pommy in the team, who set up roots in Mackay over a decade ago after a working holiday landed me here. Previously, I volunteered all over the world helping animal charities. The pet owners of Mackay love their pets, and I love helping keep them happy and healthy. A perfect combination! I will always work with you to create the best plan for you and your animal family.

My passion for providing clarity in veterinary care to animal families required me to undertake more advanced medicine study. This has enabled me to offer an honest, knowledgeable service to you. I love being able to provide pet parents with peace of mind around their decisions about their best friend. No case is without a solution. The human-animal bond is why I do what I do.

When not working, I enjoy camping and kayaking with my partner and our beautiful blue Cattle dog, Inca. The kitchen is my other favourite hangout, either baking or cooking for friends or my partner. No-one complains about baked experimentation! Our family is completed by Dotti, the adopted Persian who demonstrates resilience despite recurrent eye disease.

I am excited to meet you and help your animal family.

One certainty in life is change… I’m enthusiastic about keeping up to date with the latest research and medical advancements so that your pet receives the best possible care. If I don’t know, I will find out for you.

I was born and bred in Mackay, and after moving away for study and work for 10 years, I brought my family back home to set up roots in Mackay.

When not at work I enjoy spending time with my three energetic kids or building up a sweat doing functional fitness at the gym. My animal family includes a boisterous young Labradoodle called Bert, who loves a trip to the beach, a very affectionate Burmese cat called Ernie, who has no concept of personal space…and the reason we need a Robovac!

I am looking forward to helping you and your animal family. Dr Lisa Brinkies

Hello, I am Dr Tiffany
Exotics, and small animal vet

I grew up here in Mackay and honestly, I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else.

I’ve always known I wanted to work with animals—and what I love most about being a vet is the variety. One minute I’m the family GP, the next I’m a surgeon, radiologist, or even a pathologist. There’s always something new to learn, and I really enjoy that.

I have a special interest in exotic animals like birds, reptiles, and small mammals. One of the best parts about being a mobile vet is that I get to see these pets in their home environment, which makes a big difference when it comes to giving practical advice on their care and husbandry.

What brings me the most joy is getting to know each pet and their family, and tailoring my care to suit everyone’s needs. I love being able to make a real difference in their lives—plus, getting cuddles from excited patients is always a bonus!

It also means a lot to me that I can help families who find it hard or stressful to take their pet to a clinic, and that I can provide gentle, at-home euthanasias when it’s time to say goodbye.

When I’m not working, I’m usually spending time with my young son Ollie, heading to the beach, or catching up with friends.

I’m really looking forward to meeting you and your pets!

Hello, I am Dr Beth
Small animal vet

I am a small animal veterinarian with a deep passion for helping pets — especially our senior companions – to live as comfortably and joyfully as possible.

Older animals have a special way of slowing us down, reminding us what love and loyalty truly look like. It’s a privilege to support them through every stage of life.

I know first hand the worries, hopes and small celebrations that come with caring for animals who need a little extra support. My own pets, Raph and Sash, are both medically dependent, but they continue to enjoy beautiful, meaningful quality of life.

Supporting them has taught me the importance of patience, empathy, and tailoring treatment to what truly helps a pet thrive. It’s this lived experience that I bring into every consult.

Beyond dogs and cats, I have a soft spot for the small furries — especially rats, who are far smarter and more affectionate than many people realise. I also have experience caring for native wildlife, something that has deepened my respect for the animals we share our environment with.

When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me staying active, enjoying a workout, or making the most of living by the beach. Sunshine, movement and salt air are my favourite way to recharge.

I look forward to meeting you and supporting your animal family.

Our Nursing Team

Hello, I am Zoe

Born and raised in Mackay, I still live and work in the region now raising my own family. I began as a junior in a vet clinic as a teenager more than a decade ago(!), and haven’t left the industry since.

I have my fair share of adopted -from – work pets, they make up half of our menagerie!

My role in the team is diverse. I am the nurse, receptionist, admin officer and vet van driver.

My pet family includes “Gigi” and “Moose”, the Spoodles, one is a princess, the other a tom boy! We have a squishy Persian called “Meme”, and a chatty Sphynx called “Remy”, both keep us entertained all day long.

With almost two decades working as a veterinary nurse, I have a wealth of experience you can rely on.

Being a working mum and wife, I understand the pressures facing pet parents in Mackay.

I look forward to helping you and your pet family.

Hello, I am Sophie

I’ve been working in the veterinary industry since I was 15, and even though I’ve taken a few breaks over the years, I always seem to find my way back — because this is where I’m meant to be. Animal care has always been my constant.

Over the years, I’ve been heavily involved in rescue work, both fostering and coordinating, and it’s shaped the way I nurse: with patience, empathy and a soft spot for the underdog. I’m a lifelong large-breed lover (Neapolitan Mastiffs have my whole heart), but right now I’m firmly in my “fluffy dog era” with Summer the Cavoodle and Lumi the Bichon Frise. We also share our home with Lolly, our sweet rescue cat.

I’m married with three beautiful boys, and together we’ve lived and worked all around Australia — experiences that have given me a real appreciation for people, pets and the different ways families care for their animals.

One of my favourite parts of working with Mackay Mobile Vets is meeting pets in their home environment. Nervous animals relax so much more when they’re in their safe space, and I love taking the time to build trust and confidence with them. Supporting owners with practical, compassionate advice is something I’m passionate about — feeling understood makes such a difference.

I genuinely love coming to work every day, and I feel incredibly lucky that this is my “job.”

Outside of nursing, I’m a proud plant mum (especially succulents), a real-estate dreamer, Christmas obsessed, and fiercely competitive with board games. I’ve also just bought a new camera to get back into photography.

I’m looking forward to meeting you and caring for your pets as if they were my own.

Hello, I am Olivia

I have worked in the animal industry for many years, beginning my journey in veterinary nursing before expanding into a range of animal-focused roles.

My career has taken me from caring for patients in clinic to training specialised detection and military dogs, and supporting animals in dedicated care facilities.

I’m also a qualified dog groomer and run a small home-based grooming salon — because helping animals feel comfortable and cared for has always been at the heart of what I do.

A shared value at Mackay Mobile Vets is that every animal is an individual, and every family’s needs are unique. I love meeting pets where they’re at — whether they’re nervous, excitable, or full of confidence — and helping make each visit as calm and positive as possible.

I’m originally from New Zealand, my partner and I made the exciting move to Mackay to start a new chapter in Australia. It’s been a beautiful place to create a life.

My love for pets started early. I grew up alongside Hungarian Vizslas, who taught me the joy and companionship dogs bring into our lives. Now, my partner and I share our home with two cheeky Whippets who keep us endlessly entertained and ensure there is never a dull moment.

When the scrubs come off, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family, relaxing at home with the dogs curled up beside me, or getting lost in a good book. I love a full, animal-filled life, and genuinely wouldn’t have it any other way.

I’m looking forward to meeting you and supporting your pets.
